SCIENCE BOARD


Dr Pinar Uysal-Onganer is Reader in Molecular Biology and Group Leader of the Cancer Mechanisms and Biomarkers Research Group at the University of Westminster. She is also Adjunct Professor and Faculty Board Member at Oklahoma State University. With more than two decades of translational cancer research experience, her work focuses on non-coding RNAs as drivers and biomarkers of cancer progression, particularly in pancreatic and prostate cancer.


Dr Uysal-Onganer has published extensively on microRNAs, cellular signalling, and cancer metastasis, contributing to both fundamental biology and the development of translational tools such as liquid biopsies and diagnostic assays.


Committed to education and equality, she leads the MSc Precision Medicine module and Cancer Mechanisms and Biomarkers Research Group at University of Westminster, integrates research into student training, and actively promotes women and underrepresented groups in science. She also serves on the editorial boards of several international journals.
